Tooth
Ache:
Call
Dr. McDowall at (863) 676-8551 for an appointment.
Rinse
your mouth with warm water to clean it out.
Make
sure food or other foreign objects are not lodged around
the tooth by using dental floss.
Do
not put any over-the-counter temporary filling materials
in or around the tooth.
Do
not place aspirin or any other medication on or around
the tooth.
Broken
Tooth due to Trauma:
Call the office at (863) 676-8551 as soon as
possible for an appointment.
Rinse
mouth with warm water to keep area clean.
Use
cold compresses on the area to keep the swelling down.
Knocked
Out Tooth:
Call
the office at (863) 676-8551 for an appointment.
Hold
it by the crown, not the root.
Rinse
off the root if it is dirty. Do not scrub it or remove
any attached tissue fragments.
Put
it in a container with milk or water.
Time
is of the essence when it comes to saving teeth. The American
Dental Association says getting to the dentist within 30 minutes
can make a difference between saving or losing a tooth.
Something
Caught between the Teeth:
Try to gently remove the object with dental floss and
avoid cutting the gums.
Do
not use a sharp instrument.
