Annual Maximums

Note: The terms and explanations listed below are intended to provide patients with a general understanding of dental insurance and may not cover specific or unique benefits.

Most dental plans have an annual dollar maximum. This is the maximum dollar amount a dental plan will pay toward the cost of dental care within a specific benefit period. Usually this period is January through December, but some plans may begin and end with a different month, for example, April to March. The patient is personally responsible for paying costs above the annual maximum.

The most common maximum amount is $1,000, but can range from $500 to $3,000.
